ABOUT ISTANBUL…
Istanbul is a prime tourist destination. Any search on the net will reveal that Topkapi Palace, the Spice Bazaar, the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya, the Grand Bazaar, and more continues to draw thousands of visitors every year. There are several Bosphorus boat Tours that will take you along the famous strait to visit the castles and other curiosities before arriving at the Black Sea for a sumptuous meal.
Beyoglu’s teaming promenade, Istiklal Caddesi. Beyoglu is the heart of modern Istanbul and home to a thriving arts scene, bars, and some of the best restaurants in the city. You haven’t seen Istanbul until you’ve explored Beyoglu.
The lively music scene offers traditional Turkish music concerts, live Turkish and international pop/rock bands every night. Every summer the Istanbul Jazz Festival features international and local jazz performers.
If you are coming to Istanbul this summer for vacation and have an interest in playing jazz guitar, why not bring your instrument along with you (or NOT. An instrument can be provided for use during the 5 days) and attend an intense workshop? The meetings are twice a day, 9am to 11am and then at 6pm - 8pm. This way you can have a musical workout in the morning, go to lunch, do some exploration around the city before coming back for another session before dinner and checking out the nightlife.
There are hundreds of guitar methods available for sale and on the net for free yet still people seek out teachers. Why is that? A good teacher will tell you what is worth spending a lot of time on and what is a waste of time. I will help you untangle the fingerboard.
In this workshop, the main emphasis will be upon ‘how’ to practice. At the end of the five days, you will have gained a new way to study your instrument and you will take home along with some audio practice files, many handouts explaining everything that happened at the workshop.
